My husband just found a new job, thank God, and he’s going through the paperwork to get his job set in stone. The only problem is that the company has said they won’t be giving him benefits, even though they offer them to other employees. Can your employer legally deny you health insurance? I contacted a friend of mine who is a lawyer and he said that companies DON’T have any sort of legal obligation to offer their employees any type of insurance. That means that we’re stuck, and as we can’t afford private insurance we just won’t have any at all. He said we should have held out for a company that would have offered insurance, but in the economy here right now there’s little to no chance of that ever happening. I better keep us eating healthy and exercising so we won’t even have any health problems to pay for!
